Leadership South West - Programmes

Through our relationship with the Centre for Leadership Studies at the University of Exeter, Leadership South West manages and promotes a wide range of leadership development programmes across the Region, including:

• IoD Company Direction Programme: This programme from the Institute of Directors brings professional development to boardrooms across the South West. This established and widely recognised programme is available to all senior managers and company owners across the region with members of the IoD benefiting from preferential rates.
• Leadership Toolkit 2006 Portfolio: Practical, relevant and professional, these half-day workshops from the Institute of Directors (IoD) are your opportunity to sample the Company Direction Programme which prepares business leaders for the challenges and responsibilities of board directorship.
• Creating Cultural Leadership: An innovative cultural sector leadership development project, seeking to build cross sector collaboration alongside increased leadership effectiveness.
• Inspire: professional development for women in leadership.

Other programmes delivered by Leadership South West in conjunction with the Centre for Leadership Studies include:

• Continuing Professional Development: A range of short courses accumulating credits towards awards at postgraduate level through the University of Exeter’s CPD programme. Courses include:
  • Strategic Leadership and the Management of Change
  • Coaching for Success
  • Philosophy and Methods of Research in Organisational Settings
• Consultancy and in-house tailored programmes: The Centre acts as a leadership consultant to a significant number of private and public sector organisations and is able to offer specifically tailored courses and interventions.
• Masters Degree in Leadership Studies: A dedicated leadership programme which places considerable emphasis on exploring and understanding contemporary leadership issues and includes strong elements of action, observation, analysis and reflection offering participants a unique opportunity to integrate what they are learning to their place of work.
• MBA specialising in Leadership: A series of electives on Exeter’s MBA enables participants to specialise in leadership within this well-respected general business degree.
