CLS Research Resources: Further Details

  1. Research Resources is designed to fill an existing gap in the market. Namely, independent consultants and corporate HR departments that do not have the technical back-up or experience to undertake valid and reliable research into leadership applications that require specialised research know-how, or simply lack appropriate people resources.
  2. It provides students with both opportunities for the research component of the curriculum, or potential dissertation topics, as well as for gaining valuable field experience within 'live' leadership environments.
  3. Completed research assignments provide material for publications, and also as case studies for teaching and CPD purposes.
  4. Research Resources operates as a commercial entity and resources are made available at rates broadly comparable with related facilities in the private sector (for example, market research companies.)
  5. Funds that accrue to the Centre through this initiative may be ring-fenced for research programmes.

A typical research assignment could be, for example:

  • A joint project, between the Centre for Leadership Studies and the Centre for Finance and Investment, undertaken on behalf of a major financial services group, aimed at exploring the dynamics of the perception of corporate leadership and its impact on analyst recommendation and investment community reputation.
